Milan Ypema is the Founder and Operations Director of Beyond Frontiers, established in March 2022. In response to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He leads the organisation’s mission to deliver critical frontline support and coordinate safe evacuations. Actively present in the field, he oversees operations and collaborates with military personnel in high-risk areas. His leadership and vision continue to define Beyond Frontiers’ operational strength and humanitarian impact.
Based in Kyiv, Lena Yaskovets serves as Director of Beyond Frontiers Ukraine. She manages evacuation requests, coordinates operations and ensures effective administrative processes. Alongside her role, she serves as a chaplain in the Ukrainian army and as an officer with the Kyiv Police Force. Her professionalism and dedication reflect the core values of Beyond Frontiers, including teamwork, commitment, and integrity.
As Director of Beyond Frontiers Netherlands, Jan Glastra van Loon oversees the organisation’s governance and strategic direction. He focuses on strengthening partnerships and ensuring effective aid delivery. Building on the foundation’s established work, he upholds its commitment to solidarity, dignity, and long-term support for communities affected by conflict.
Bas Kooyman has served as Treasurer of Beyond Frontiers since February 2024. His involvement with humanitarian support for Ukraine began in 2022, through both private initiatives and international partnerships. With extensive experience in financial management and field coordination, Bas ensures accountability and sustainability within the organisation.
As Board Advisor, Tom van Zanten contributes to the strategic development and international representation of Beyond Frontiers. He advises on governance, partnerships and long-term impact. Guided by his belief in light amid adversity, he supports the organisation’s mission to bring stability and hope to those affected by conflict.
Svitlana Grabovska-Khomych is a counseling psychologist based in the Netherlands. Originally from Ukraine, she has been providing emotional support and guidance for over a year, helping people reconnect with their inner strength and resilience. As a volunteer, Svitlana offers psychological assistance to our team and those affected by war, including displaced families and Ukrainian servicemen ,fostering stability, self-awareness, and hope amid challenging times.
The Support Team plays a vital role in Beyond Frontiers’ daily operations. It includes social media managers, translators, and psychologists who ensure clear communication, emotional support, and effective outreach. Through their expertise and dedication, they strengthen the organisation’s mission and extend its impact to those in need.
